The Royal Pets Hotel and Spa is proud to announce our new Certified Professional Animal Care Operator (CPACO), Jenn Dahinten, the General Manager and CEO at Royal Pets Hotel and Ontario Pet CPR and First Aid, is now a member of an elite group of pet care professionals who have successfully demonstrated their comprehensive pet care knowledge and passion for pet safety by becoming a Certified Professional Animal Care Operator (CPACO).
The Professional Animal Care Certification Council (PACCC) recently conducted an independent certification exam for pet care providers.
To initially qualify to take the CPACO exam, Jenn had to meet minimum education requirements, have a minimum of five years of experience with at least one year in an operator position, maintain membership in a pet-related association or organization, engage in ongoing community service, and provide letters of reference from veterinarians and other pet care industry professionals. The in-depth examination covered animal care topics including health, nutrition, dog fight and bite protocol, on-leash and off-leash interaction, sanitation, dog behaviour and temperament, dog body language, dog training, animal and handler safety, vaccination protocol, workflow management, pathogen control, emergency and
quarantine protocols, air quality standards, staff management expectations, professional business and financial management, and much more.
The exam content was created by a team of industry expert volunteers under the guidance of the Professional Testing Corporation (PTC), the third-party testing organization that administered the exam and certified the results.

Jenn’s certification represents what The Royal Pets Hotel and SPa intends to be a growing team of independently certified pet care professionals. We look forward to the next opportunity to sit for the exam.
“We are so proud to be able to demonstrate through PACCC’s independent certification our dedication to pet safety for our clients and community,” said Jenn Dahinten. “Pets are
family members and their ‘parents’ should feel confident they are receiving the highest level of care, and here at Royal Pets we don’t expect you to just take our word for it, we’ll let the experts join in reassuring you of our knowledge and commitment.”
